The success of the CPC rescue program depends on the number of qualified fosters the CPC is able to maintain. Foster families are an integral part of the development of a rescue dog outside of a shelter environment. Foster homes are a much better environment in which to discover the true personality of a dog. CPC requires that foster families make a commitment to the basic training and obedience of their foster dog and to assist CPC staff with transporting their foster dog to and from veterinary appointments. CPC also expects foster families to attend CPC public and adoption events when possible to increase the exposure and adoptability of their foster dog.
